BUTTERFLY DESIGN - BRAD COLLINSON
The idea of the butterfly was brought to our attention by the
Late Margaret Hewer. The butterfly represents the messenger
of the departed souls. It is also said to be a symbol of the traveling Spirits, those departed and misplaced that are wandering about.
The design was created by the Late Brad Collinson and adopted
by our committee as our logo.

PITT RIVERS MUSEUM
Delegates from the Haida Repatriation Committee have visited the PRM for over 10 years, whenever possible, viewing our Haida treasures and holding ceremony for the Ancestor which was held there. In 2006, curator Laura Peers visited Haida Gwaii to initiate a partnership between the Haida and the Pitt Rivers Museum. We continue to share information and resources between the Haida and the PRM, and in 2009 a 21 person Haida delegation visited the museum for three weeks – viewing our cultural treasures, sharing in our culture with staff and students. In 2010 the Haida Ancestor was repatriated back to Haida Gwaii.
